Boulder Park Maps

These maps while working as a planner for the City of Boulder’s Parks and Recreation Department (BPR). Branding guidelines required specific colors and fonts in the legends, but flexibility in the maps and symbols allowed a graphic style that is easily read and understood by those who don’t speak English or have difficulties seeing. Colors, textures, and universal symbols were all used to increase accessibility.

Each map was made using ArcGIS for detail accuracy, and then enhanced with Adobe Illustrator for the colors and effects that bring it to life.
